Being able to experience the longest lockdown in the world, I was able to appreciate nature more. This illustration is somehow a gift to my late grandmother who's a lecturer in botany. I never got into it while she was still here, and it's a way for me to express how I finally am able to appreciate and connect to nature like she did.
From sketch to finish.
This artwork is to be printed through risograph which is only able to print four vibrant colors. The process in creating this illustration was lengthy due to the meticulous nature of preparing a risograph print. With only four colors (specifically aqua, yellow, pink and black) I was able to blend them all together and create a wide range of colors complementing each other. It was a lengthy process but it was absolutely worth it!
